Moving ahead steadily as a popular artist, she wants to conquer the world arena with her work soon.
One would easily mistake Krista Sher Selico as a model of a high fashion magazine, as she looks more like she’s meant to be in front of the camera than be behind the mic on the stage giving opera performances. She is perhaps one of the most unexpected artists who seems to look like she’s in the wrong profession owing to her gorgeous personality, which gives the first impression that she’s a fashion model. Nonetheless, she is a formally trained opera singer who stepped into classical training at the age of 9 in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she spent the most of her early days before moving to Los Angeles with her family.
Her talent was recognized early as she grabbed acting roles in kids television shows before she won the LA Opera Spotlight awards which landed her a scholarship to USC to study classical voice, which eventually led her foray into the profession of opera singing giving performances globally. She did try out other genres before settling for opera, as she didn’t want to be left out in exploring other possibilities which would bring out the real interest of her career choice. One would think that she too follows the traditional path that most seasoned opera singers follow, but we are wrong here, as she begs to differ. She says that her approach is more like a pop recording artist and fashion influencer, which distinguishes her from others in the fraternity.
One can see different shades in her performances which range from the perfected renditions of classical arias such as “”Vissi D’Arte” “Oh Mio Babbino Caro” and “Quando M’en Vo”, at the same time current styles which makes her stand out from the conventional pack of opera singers. As she says, “In all my studies of classical culture there is one thing that has remained consistent, fashion and music influence culture, which I have tried to amalgamate in my work”. She is the sole reason for bringing high fashion, LA life and perfected Arias together that introduces opera to a new generation.
Presently, she’s working on launching her debut opera project with a live recording at Warner Brothers Studios under the supervision of Anthony Parnther, who is known for scoring music in numerous films like Tenet, Turning Red and many more.
